10 in 10: Day 5- How to Enjoy Your Holiday Decor All Season Long

The acceptable timeframe for Christmas decorations is from the day after Thanksgiving through New Year's Eve, right? I can't speak with total authority because it's not my holiday, but this is what I have observed over the years.  Are you happy with just a month or so of Christmas cheer in your home?  For many people "it's the most wonderful time of the year," so why not enjoy it for the full winter season?

I came across some beautiful DIY holiday projects on Pinterest last week.  What I find unique about them is that the feel Christmas-sey without being so over the top.  They are nature-inspired decor that can be enjoyed all winter, and then dressed up with Christmas touches during December.

This wreath with greenery would be beautiful hanging on your front door or above a console table in your entryway.  The natural elements are reminiscent of Christmas Fir trees, right?  So enjoy this all winter, then add holly berries and some shiny ornaments during Christmas for the full effect.

These mini trees are so cute! I also love that this project is made from scraps- it's a green, green DIY (Get it?) So, going with the same concept, decorate with these around the house.  I like them on the mantle like shown on her blog, to create a whole forest.  I also think they would look cute clustered on an end table or even as place cards at your dinner table.  When it's Chrismtas time, attach some little jingle bells or tie a red ribbon onto the trunk.
