One Room Challenge, Wk 6: My Boys' Bathroom- The Reveal
/Welcome to Week 6 of the One Room Challenge- the BIG REVEAL. Wow, was it a push to the end! I felt like I was on Interior Design Masters on Netflix, racing to meet the deadline. I finished all but the plumbing of the bathroom sink , and that’s pretty great!
My bathroom redesign was inspired by a Noah’s Ark artwork that used to hang in my husband’s childhood bedroom, which he shared with his younger brother, who heartbreakingly passed away recently. As we approach his yartzheit, I don’t think we could have better timing to reveal our new bathroom: Modern Metallics & Noah’s Ark. Watery blues, cloud whites, and gold and brushed nickel finishes tie this room altogether.
Phase 1 of their bathroom started 2 years ago, with a fresh coat of paint and a new mirror. Phase 2 for this challenge included, well, everything else! The main components of this design to update were the floors, vanity cabinet and countertop. My DIY wall treatment really brought the room to life, and just makes me smile. Let’s start the tour!

I just love how their new bathroom came together. It truly feels like I stepped into my rendering from 6 weeks ago. And my boys’ have enjoyed the whole process, from demo to painting, to discovering design details around the room. It also shows as a beautiful guest bathroom. I wanted the room to be playful for my children, and styled to impress my guests. I truly feel I achieved my design goals through my choice of finishes and storage solutions.
I must give a huge thank you to my favorite contractor, my incredible hubby. Now he can adding plumbing to his resume! He hung in there with me till the last moments, sacrificed his free time during nap times to sand and paint, and so much more. I love him, and I’m so glad that we can work on these kinds of projects together.
