$100 Room Challenge, Wk 2: My Workspace- Inspiration & Rearranging
/Welcome back to Week 2 of my #100rmchallenge !! This week I was on the hunt for inspiration while my incredible hubby burned the midnight oil to clear off the huge desk after the little ones went down for the night. “Thank youuuu!”
In case you missed it:
So, first I was off to the Dollar Tree to hunt for some home office finds. Sounds a bit weird, right? I know- but you never know what you might stumble across. I actually found these cute pencil cups and bins- they come in dusty blue and white. I thought about adding color in natural ways with design books and my art supplies. Maybe I can bring some of my art supplies out of hiding, and increase their accessibility by storing them in these containers on my desk?
Then I dashed over to Home Goods. I say dashed because my committee meeting that night got cancelled, but my husband still gave me the “time off” for personal time. YAY. I had about 2 hours to myself! It was so weird to walk through a store without having to pull out my stash of crackers to keep my little ones happy- Lol. Here’s what I caught my eye:
I am still loving that calculator <3
Then I had to enter the never-ending maze of IKEA. Buuuut, it only feels never-ending when you’re trying to brainstorm with a 1yo and 3yo. It’s nearly impossible to make a decision between keeping my boys calm and happy- Aah. Still, I managed to take a look at some storage options for design magazines and catalogues. Blue as my accent color? Pink to blend with my walls? Or maybe classic white is the way to go? Hmmm
Another day I snuck out to The Container Store. Not sure if items would be in my budget, but I was still interested to look for inspiration. Rose gold accessories were like eye-candy to me- LOVE . I also saw some hanging file boxes and paper organizers that could work. And this cork and metallic board might be a DIY project…
I rearranged my bookcase this week. I raised the scrapbook supplies container to a level higher than my baby can reach- a MUST. After looking at ideas all week, I think I want to keep all storage containers and organizers on my bookcase white. This way, the artwork and desk accessories will be the stars of the show. Plus, with two little ones under 3yo, it’s so easy for our living room to become a tornado of toys. I think keeping the bookcase classic in white will help keep a clean and calm feel to our great room.
Here are a few progress shots from Week 1 to Week 2
Lastly, here are some beautiful and fresh workspaces that are capturing the feel of the space or the storage solutions that I’m hoping to achieve:

I’m hoping to get some quality work time this weekend. Maybe my hubby will take the boys out for a while? (please please pleeeeeease?!) Be sure to stop by and visit the other room makeovers linked below. Projects range from a shed to a master bathroom- WOW.
